Statsig Pricing Review (2026): What It Really Costs
The live price list, the event math, four review platforms and three competitors' published rates, read through the eyes of a dev who ships alone.
Summary
This Statsig pricing review audits the live price list, the event math, four review platforms and three competitors' published rates. Verdict: the free tier (2M events) and $150 Pro plan make Statsig one of the cheapest ways to run flags and A/B tests, with a derived bill of about $2,400 a month at 50M events. The catch is ownership, since Amplitude now runs it and pricing could change, so re-check terms before you commit.
Statsig's pricing is the cheapest serious way to run flags and A/B tests: 2M events a month free, then $150 a month with 5M events included and $0.05 per extra 1K. At 50M events that works out to about $2,400 a month. The catch is ownership: the product is now run by Amplitude, so re-check the terms before you commit.

This is an evidence audit, not a month of hands-on experiments. We did not subscribe, so we make no claim about how the console feels on your own traffic. We fetched the live pricing page without cache, read the metered-events FAQ, pulled ratings from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and Product Hunt, read Statsig's posts on the OpenAI and Amplitude deals, and compared the published price lists of PostHog, LaunchDarkly and GrowthBook. Cost figures beyond the $150 base are our own arithmetic, labelled as derived. Scores are our weighting of the evidence, not a lab result.
Should you pay for Statsig?
YES if you...
- Solo devs and small teams who want flags plus A/B tests without a $500 a month floor
- Products with real traffic where the free 2M events are not enough but 5M to 50M is
- Teams that want experiments, analytics and replays under one SDK and one bill
NO if you...
- Anyone who needs a fixed per-seat price and cannot tolerate usage-based bills
- Teams that want a vendor with a settled owner and roadmap for the next three years
What Statsig charges, as of October 13, 2026
Event-based pricing: you pay for metered events, not seats or monthly users.

- Volume discounts
ROI breakdown: Derived from the published rate: Pro costs $400 a month at 10M events, $900 at 20M, $2,400 at 50M and $4,900 at 100M. That is about $40 to $49 per million events, with a marginal rate of $50 per million. Vendr's contract data shows a median buyer paying $82,500 a year across 87 purchases.
Hidden costs & gotchas
- Each Pro subscription covers one project only; extra projects are upgraded independently
- Overages are billed on the next invoice, so a traffic spike shows up a month late
- Extra dimensions on a logged event count as additional events
- Enterprise pricing is not published, and data import from other analytics tools is Enterprise only
What the live page shows
The page leads with three tiers and one loud claim: the most affordable offering for each of its five-plus products. There is no seat column, which is the whole point of the model.
The compare-plans table starts here
Further down, the compare-plans table splits features by tier. Core experimentation and flags sit on the free plan, advanced statistics and unlimited analytics retention move to Pro, and SSO and warehouse native deployment sit on Enterprise.
Documentation overview
The docs are organised around experiments, feature management and analytics. They read as engineering documentation first, which matches what Capterra's reviewers say about onboarding non-engineers.

Pros and cons
Pros
- The free plan is genuinely usable 2M events, unlimited seats and 50,000 replays covers most side projects and early products without a card on file.
- One meter for four products Flags, experiments, analytics and replays are priced under the same event model, so there is no separate analytics bill.
- Transparent overage math The $0.05 per 1K rate is published, so you can model your own bill before signing up.
Cons
- Metered events are a subset of events, not a raw count Exposures with metric lifts, logged events, ingested and custom metrics count, and extra dimensions count again.
- Ownership has changed twice in eight months OpenAI announced the deal in September 2025, then Amplitude took over on May 5, 2026. The published numbers could move at your next renewal.
- Learning curve and developer-first docs G2 lists Learning Curve (46), Steep Learning Curve (42) and Lack of Guidance (28) among the most common cons.
- Enterprise price is a black box Anything above Pro becomes a sales conversation, with warehouse native, SSO and priority support all gated.
Final verdict
On price alone, Statsig earns its reputation. The free plan is large enough to ship a real product on, the Pro plan is a flat $150 with a published overage rate, and the arithmetic stays friendly well past 50M events a month. For a solo dev or small team that wants flags and experiments without a per-seat bill, that is hard to beat.
The risk is not the price list, it is who stands behind it. Statsig has gone from independent to OpenAI to Amplitude in under a year, and Amplitude's own roadmap talks about integrating the two products by the end of Q3. Nothing published says prices will rise. Nothing guarantees they will not.
Our advice: start free and check the usage page after a week. Statsig is a strong buy for teams who treat experiments as a habit, and the wrong buy if you only need three flags.
- Free tier value 9/10 2M events, unlimited seats
- Cost at scale 8/10 About $50 per extra million events
- Billing predictability 6.5/10 Metered events need a week of data
- Feature depth 9/10 CUPED, sequential tests, warehouse native
- Ownership stability 6/10 Two acquisitions in eight months
